We cannot escape stereotypes, nor can we prevent ourselves from doing so. Now with the media being so influential and powerful, they have set our minds to think that in order to live our lives, we must be 'placed' or 'labeled' in a particular group to fit in. From my experience and research, I think most of the television programs and movies showcase a lot of stereotypes. For example, the movie Mean Girls, where the whole story describes how female high school social cliques operate, and the effect they can have on girls. Another movie that is also considered to exhibiting stereotypes is Legally Blonde. The movie is portraying that blondes are often stereotype as 'dumb' and so they wanted to break that away.

Magazines are also sending out the wrong message to the society, where they stereotypes gender. They illustrate how men and women are supposed to be or supposed to act like. For example. men should always be masculine, dominant, strong and seem to be interesting in technology and cars whereas women are always perceived as feminine, emotional and mostly likes to go shopping and put on make-up.
