In my opinion, I don't think bloggers are considered journalists. Blogging is definitely a new way of writing, a more modern and innovative kind. But people who blog usually write out of passion because they want to while journalists write to get paid, because it is their job. Moreover, blogging gives us, ordinary people, a chance to voice out our opinions, feelings, thoughts that we are entitled to. Also, bloggers' content is considered to be more personal but journalists must write based on facts, whether it is a hundred percent the truth or not.
Everyone can be a blogger these day, but to be a journalist, a good one, you will need training and certain criteria before becoming one. As a journalist, you need to be able to conduct a proper interview, know actual news from gossips or trivia and write in a proper way, that means in correct grammar and spelling.
On the other hand, bloggers usually write or blog about the things that are most interest to them. I think this is where the difference of blogging and journalism lies. Journalist usually writes about facts that might not entirely be of interest to them at all.
Blogger shouldn't be held in the same high standards as journalism. But then again, blogger can be consider as a tool for journalism, that is, depending on the person who blogs it.
I agree with you! Journalist need to be training and it is an education. Blogger everyone can use and write whatever their want to write.

ReplyDeletei'm agree with you too! everyone can be blogger yet not journalist. Journalist have to be very good in languages and grammar. Write news and gossip all are need to be very careful as if get mad of other people is a very bad thing.
